Indexed Custom Fields
Contact Central OnDemand allows you to tailor the application to meet your unique business requirements. In order to optimize the performance for each company, we are providing additional custom fields which have been indexed. Enabling a specific set of indexed custom fields will allow you to define the optimum configuration of your application. Although not necessary, you may wish to migrate your data from nonindexed to indexed custom fields to increase the performance of lists your users execute.
Steps to view functionality:
- Navigate to Admin > Application Layout > Field Setup
- Select any of the supported record types (see notes), to view the index custom fields. Each starts with the default name of “Indexed.”
- Each object has the following number of field types:
- Indexed Checkbox – 1
- Indexed Currency – 1
- Indexed Date – 1
- Indexed Number – 1
- Indexed Pick – 6
- Indexed Short Text – 2
- Indexed Long Text - 1
- Exceptions:
- Account does not have a new Indexed Long Text field due to a limitation in table space. This is being evaluated for a future release.
- Custom Objects only have one new field, Indexed Checkbox field
- The remaining indexed fields already exist (some disguised under their assigned names)
- Index Picklist 6 = Type
- Index Short Text 1 & 2 = Quick Search 1 & 2
- Index Long Text = Name

- The indexed custom fields have been preconfigured in the database for your use, this means you may change the labels on the fields but you can not change the integration tags.
- If you have preexisting data you would like to migrate to the indexed custom fields, you may use export/import or web services on the available objects.
Forecast Currency
Customers leveraging forecasting within a multi-national organization often find it necessary to quickly translate forecast values between different currencies. With the new currency conversion capability, managers and users may view their forecast currency converted to any active currency to better understand the impacts of the forecast on the bottom-line. Additionally, these users will be able to edit forecasts in any selected currency making it easier to correspond with the multi-national users within your organization.
Steps to view functionality:
- Navigate to Forecast tab
- Drill into any Forecast record
- Within the Forecast detail, view the Forecast summary list. Within the Forecast summary list, you will see a new option on the right-side of the titlebar called
“View In:” and a picklist. This picklist contains all active currencies within the system.
Notes regarding functionality:
- The forecast values are converted from the stored Forecast currency (corporate currency) into the selected “View in” currency using valid exchange rates for the Forecast Date.
- If the forecast is edited while being viewed in EUR, then the user can enter in values in EUR. The forecast will be converted to and saved in the corporate currency.
- If a user’s default currency or their selected currency does not have a valid exchange rate defined for the forecast date, then user will receive an error message and the currency is translated to the company’s corporate currency instead.
Lead Conversion Picklist Mapping
Implementing and continually improving upon best practices sets Contact Central OnDemand apart. With two-tier lead tracking and conversion process, organizations are better able to manage their pipeline.
With this release, you will now be able to map any picklist value from the Leads record type to Account, Contact, or Opportunity picklist values.
Steps to view functionality:
- Navigate to Admin > Data Rules & Assignment > Lead Conversion Mapping
- Within the Lead Conversion Mapping page, you will now see picklists available for mapping.
Notes regarding functionality:
- At conversion runtime, the system will:
- Convert the selected lead picklist (in the user’s current language)
- The picklist in the current user’s language should be selected on the mapped pick list field
- If a picklist option does not exist in mapped picklist, the user will receive an error:
- Message: “The lead conversion could not be completed, one or more of the mapped lead pick list values does not exist. Please contact your system administrator.”
